Aiden has chosen to complete a project on child labour including soldiers. He is reading through some material and will begin working on this 6 week research project on Jan. 23.
He is reading books and watching video for his research. He is using materials found in the Heritage kids through the world conflict and global issues kits.

Aiden is finishing up a mini biography project on Isaac Newton. He has followed his outline and will complete this project and be ready for presentation on Jan. 18.

Playing a song that the attendees will be singing to. (Deck the Halls)
-attended Canadian composer composition workshop
-performed in Canadian Composer recital
-Aiden is gearing up for the Festival of the Arts. He is planning to play four songs.

In Language Arts the kids learned about online safety. They had an assignment to make a safety poster.

-Aiden has begun to learn Minecraft. He has also been reading several books that teach Minecraft. After discussion, Aiden thought that one hour a week (during the weekend) would be an appropriate amount of video time. He spends time planning how he will use his allowed time each week.

Aiden is a help in the kitchen. His "specialty" is making sauces.
-Aiden has been spending time building a bike pump track out of snow. He researches how to build them, and has been spending much time building and refining the track. Aiden recently researched how to build snowboarding rails. He watched videos, used his money to purchase the materials from the hardware store and then built himself one.
Tramp biking is a relatively new sport. Aiden watched videos on it, built himself a tramp bike and now practices his skills up to 2 hours a day. He also researched and discovered that there is no current world record so he is practicing and hoping to make a record:)
-Aiden and his friend created posters for a winter business. They passed flyers out throughout the neighbourhood. They have had a paid job and received $30. He keeps our driveway shovelled after each snow.

Skating-shooting hockey pucks and shooting goals
Aiden enjoys spending time at the park or the valley, practicing his snowboarding skills.
Aiden recently went bowling twice and enjoys learning new sports.
Aiden has been spending hours creating snow tracks and jumps for his snowboard. He often researches how to build them on the computer before tackling the jumps.
