Math- Practice with mentally calculating the 9+ facts. eg. 34 +9 or 69+2 etc.
Played the corners game each day. Reviewed squares, rectangles and triangles on the Geoboard.

Bible- "Be kind to each other and to everyone else." 1 Thessalonians 5:15
Leading Little ones to God. Talking about what makes a good friend, kindness, gentleness, sharing etc. We want to be good friends to others so we should have these traits.

Science- Finishing up our plant chart. After 14 days we grew 14 cucumber plants, 12 sunflowers and 0 nasturtiums. The children have come up with their reasons for why they haven't grown. They think it is because of the lack of sun/warmth we have been having and maybe Nasturtiums are sensitive to this. Next week they will use our findings to write out sentences.
Our outside garden is sprouting our beans and peas. We thinned them out as the kids had planted a TON of seeds in a very small area. We will plant our carrots and cucumbers during our next sunny day.......hopefully soon!
Our friends had to go out of town so we are "butterfly-sitting" and got to watch see a butterfly emerge from it's Chrysallis, although we did miss the "very" moment and ran in shortly after. We watched videos on youtube about butterfly care, butterfly emerging and butterfly release. When our friends return we will get together and release this butterfly together. Next week we'll do a few follow up activities about our experience.

Language Arts- We read The Velveteen Rabbit". We read, "Paddle to the Sea" by Holling C. Holling. The kids really enjoyed this book and it taught about Canadian geography and the Great Lakes. At one point the boat finds itself trapped in a wood mill. Aiden decided to make a mill out of cardboard boxes and he painted it. They have been reading daily and they are both reading Level 2 or Level 3 books independently. They read together and help each other with difficult words and sometimes come to me for help.

Social Studies- We finished the kids map books! They really enjoyed this and hopefully they will enjoy the next book I have for next year.

Fine Arts- Listening to Vivaldi, dancing to Vivaldi. Usually Caileigh and Mikayla dance and Aiden works the "spotlight" (aka flashlight). Painting with Acryllics to make "planet paintings"

PE- bike riding, walking, running, soccer, climbing!
Aiden rode his bike around Sepa Lake and enjoyed stopping for mini adventures.
