Caileigh played money games with Aiden and worked on patterns.
Bible- Leading Little Ones to God. Scripture, "Even the wind and the sea obey him." Mark 4:41 We made a collage on the wall that says, "God Created" and drew pictures and wrote words to illustrate this. Aiden wrote, "God created life." Caileigh wrote, "Caileigh created friends."
Aiden is a prayerful boy. He asks me to pray about requests throughout the day. He'll ask me to pray when he feels sick, when he's nervous or if he has trouble sleeping. It is wonderful to see such faith and it reminds me to continually come to God in prayer.
Language Arts- Daily printing practice through copywork, letter writing. Reading practice. The kids have nearly 40 circles on their caterpillars! I would say roughly 10 more to reach their rooms and earn a package of gum. We're reading aloud "Trumpet of the Swan". In the car we're listening to "The Incredible Journey."
Caileigh practicing reading.
Science- Continued interest in rocks and minerals. My Dad sent the kids a small fossil as well as a piece of "fools gold". We made crystals again but this time using sugar crystals. We are still waiting for the water to evaporate.
Our friends got caterpillars from convention and brought them over to show us. They performed a little play about the life cycle of a caterpillar. When they were finished all the kids got to try acting out the play.
We went to the marsh with friends to watch the birds. We saw beautiful yellow headed blackbirds and red winged blackbirds. We watched a video on baby robins being born.
We read about worms and collected some from the garden in a jar and have been watching them drag leaves and grass down to the bottom.
We went to the garden store to get seeds, soil etc. in preparation for planting.
We have been raking and pruning the garden. (and of course digging holes and getting dirty)
Social Studies- Map work. I love that the kids can independently work through the workbook. They worked on a page with a grid and answering the questions.
PE- Soccer started today!! Both kids loved their first day of soccer. They came home and practiced additionally. Daily outside play, walks, running, soccer, bike riding, gardening etc.
I got your letter in the mail today about soccer! What colour is your jersey and does your team have name? Kaijah started playing Mosquito fast pitch a few weeks ago - it is nice to have some outdoor fun!
