"In everything you do put God first and He will direct you|.  Proverbs 3:6
 Reading from The Jesus Storybook Bible.
We read about John Paton.  We discussed thankfulness and appreciativeness.

Language Arts
We completed daily printing practice through A Reason for Handwriting as well as The Complete Writer.
We completed a unit in spelling.  Two of our spelling words were contractions so we discussed what these were and how they work.
We discussed verbs as doing an action, showing a stae of being and linking two words together.To illustrate this point we made chains of paper.  On the first paper we put a noun, on the middle paper we put a verb (am, is, it, are, be, being been) and on the final paper an adjective.  We put them together to form a chain so the kids could see the verb in the middle linking the other two words together.

{The middle link says, "are"}

 We also played a game linking words to make a sentence, again illustrating the linking verb in the middle.
 The kids also narrated a story.

Social Studies  We completed unit 1 from Donna Ward's Canada My Country study.  We discussed maps, compasses and the compass rose.  We looked through a children's atlas of canada.  We learned the 3 oceans that surround Canada and located our province and capital city on a map.  We learned the acronym HOMES to memorize the Great Lakes.  We completed a map page following the directions required.
Aiden and Caileigh completed a puzzle of Canada.
In History we learned about the Chinese Mongols and Kublia Khan.  We made Chinese lanterns.

Science
We reviewed water, and put together a book on what we know about water in each of it's 3 states.  The kids also made a book showing the importance of water for ourselves,as well as for animals and our planet.
We watched a program about sharks.
Aiden added a picture of a shark to our animal poster, and Caileigh added a picture of a Caribou (from the Magic School Bus Arctic book)
