West and Windy by Courtenay Kasper
-Our previous neighbour from 108 Mile has written another book.  Alex, Jordan and Mikayla have been enjoying listening to the story as our current read-aloud.  The kids drew pictures to go with the story and then sent them to the author who will be putting them on her webpage.  The kids are thinking through questions that they will be asking her when we interview her on FaceTime in the new year.  Questions like, "How do you get your ideas for the stories?" etc.

-Preparing to complete a research project on Tarantulas.  Took notes on information we found.  Put the notes into different categories like Where do They Live?  etc.  Changed the notes into sentences.  Added pictures and created a research project.  Alex was so proud of his work.  He read his project to all his grandparents.

Alex even made a bow, arrow and quiver for his Archery coaches at Kids Club.

Career

-Time line-Alex created a timeline from birth-present time.  He added in the years, months and important details about his life, eg. first steps, moving to 100 mile house, etc.

-Completed, "All About Me" worksheets looking at skills, interests ,etc.

Alex's favourite activity to prepare for Christmas is baking.  He likes to create in the kitchen as well.  His favourite recipe so far was adding crushed candy canes to his chocolate chip cookies.
