Math- 7 lessons 18-24 evens and odds, writing addition equations, parallel and perpendicular, adding tens, memorized months of the year

Bible- Reviewed past scriptures. Read Matthew 2-10. (a chapter or two a day) Working through Leading Little Ones to God. Continued with John 3:16-17, adding 18 little by little. Devotional on Self Control. What does it mean? How can we practice it? Got a chance to practice it at our playdate. Sitting quietly and taking deep breaths when we get too wound up. Not reacting to situations where we are upset by screaming and crying. Using our words and not our actions.

Reading-Daily practice, reading to siblings, read aloud, “Bunnies in the Bathrooms” an Animal Ark series.

Printing-Daily practice, worksheets, letter writing, note making, Aiden continues to song write. The following is a song he wrote……..

“It seems, it seems, there is so much to do.

No time to do the things that I want to do.

I want to go outside and build a tree house but……

There is too much else to do.

It is almost time for dinner now…….

It is almost time for bedtime now……

Now it is time for bed.

Science-Made a decision to do project on rabbits. Wrote down questions that the kids want answered about rabbits. Went to library and checked out several books on rabbits. Reading through books. Drew pictures of rabbits. Made toilet paper rabbits and a house for them to live in. Named them Spotty and Snowball.

Watched brain pop jr. videos on animal classification, hibernation.

Kids used the globe to locate and memorize the names of the 7 continents. Then we located Canada and discussed the different provinces. Located BC and then found 100 Mile. Used a map to travel from 100 Mile to Powell River.

Health and Career- Discussions about the difference between garbage and recycling, what can recycled products be made into, what garbage items can be composted, what items will never break down. We talked about what happens to the garbage. Took a trip to the dump to drop off garbage.

Used recycled materials to make different crafts. Animals from egg cartons, houses from boxes etc.

Life Skills-baked cookies, prepared snacks, created a chocolate/milk popsicle.

Activities- Library. Lego, lego lego. Aiden made a “lego milk whipper”. He created a sewing factory. He is in the process of trying to invent an item that will clean the house for me. I can’t wait for him to be finished!!! He also spent a few hours decorating plates for his plate making factory.

3 playdates!!! The first playdate was a mom and her two young children. The older two practiced being good hosts. They helped prepare snack, helped monitor the 2 year olds and provided baby toys for the little ones. The second playdate was with two kids their age and the kids had so much fun! This family not only homeschools but they also use Heritage!!! The Mom and I could not stop talking and sharing ideas. It was fantastic. We hope to have them over regularly. The third was a young, single, foster mom who has 5 kids. There was a friend for each of the kids. They enjoyed playing outside and sharing snack together.
