Health/Career

Read, One Plastic Bag by Miranda Paul.  Discussed how the character made useful items out of old bags and helped to clean up her community.  Challenged Alex to build something out of recycling.  Alex created a robot.

The Berenstain Bears and the Bully.  Learning how to properly respond to unkind people.

Baking muffins.  Making deliveries to drop some off with elderly friends.

Read The Berenstain Bears Dollars and Sense.
Read The Berenstain Bears and the Trouble with Money After reading The Berenstain Bears and the Trouble with Money, Alex decided to make bookmarks.  I thought he was making them to give away to family.  Alex went outside to play and about 20min. later came inside waving a $5 bill.  While I thought he was outside playing, he had set up a bookmark stand at the end of our driveway and managed to make the money from a neighbour driving by.  He was extremely proud of his business and bought his siblings a treat with the earnings.  We discussed the importance of letting mommy know when he is going to do something like this.  It's not safe to set up stands without a parent knowing.  I did phone the neighbour and she admitted she thought something was amiss because Alex was outside in his pyjamas:)  She was very proud of his initiative and that is why she awarded him the $5.

Read Franklin is Messy.
Read The Berenstain Bears and the Messy Room
I challenged Jordan to clean his room and keep it clean each morning.  We put a hook up behind his door to hang his house coat and cape. (just like the story)
