Science

We're studying different animals each week/month. We are currently reading about dolpins and wolverines.

Experiments with magnets. Creating a book on magnets by illustrating pictures of the main points. eg. "magnets have a north and south pole".

The kids made fishing poles using magnets and string and then caught fish with paper clips attached.

History- Read about Ancient Greece from The Story of the World. The kids tried soap carving to see what stone carving would have been like. They found it more difficult than they originally thought.

They completed a page in their map book about continents and oceans.

Fine Arts

Using ideas and methods from, "Making Amazing Art" by Sandi Henry, we discussed different types of patterns, eg. dots, lines, waves etc. We partitioned our paper into sections and then created a different pattern in each section. We then used watercolor paint to add different background colors to each section. It resembled a quilt.

The kids have been doing a lot of drawing in their free time.

Here Caileigh put together a book titled, "Hors Clecshin" (horse collection) in which she has stickers and pictures about horses.

Here Aiden drew a picture of his Lego motorcycle.

Mikayla turned 3!

She is learning her letter sounds and reviewing color and shapes. Practicing counting.
